Zimbra… Maybe?

So I’ve been playing around in the background with mail servers.
You may have noticed connectivity issues (especially today 12-23-2010)
as I’ve been playing with alternative imap servers.

We’re now using the imap server dovecot instead of wu-imapd.

I’m thinking about installing the Zimbra Open Source Edition.
It would enable a boat load of new features that I’ve been drooling over
specifically CardDAV, iCal and CalDAV for contacts and calendars.

Anybody have an opinion on this suite?
Or any alternatives that they may have used that they recommend?
I’m open to suggestions before I dick with Zimbra…

Thanks in advance.

Updates 06-16-2010

I did another apt-get upgrade mainly bind9 stuff nothing too important.

I installed imapproxy for squirrelmail/roundcubemail you should notice
an increase in speed when using them. (I know I did!)

Svn pulls were also performed tonight (roundcubemail, z-push)
Sadly because of so many changes I had to reset the roundcubemail
SQL database you will have to setup your account stuff again. (Sorry!)

I fixed mimedefang today for some reason it had a fit and prevented
sendmail from doing it’s job properly…

I updated all wordpress plugins on all of the sites I manage.

And I played around with WordPress 3.0 RC3 tonight it’s looking good.

Now friend connect with me via the bar at top and read the site more
often users! All major changes that occur on Inexistence I post here!

End of Line.

Small Update

Hey Folks,
I know it’s been awhile since my last post as
I’ve been working a lot lately.

So here’s a small update for those that care:
I updated all debian security related packages.
I update roundcube of course to the latest svn.
I updated z-push to the svn contrib branch.
I tweaked some apache settings to help improve stuff.
I am posting for the first time on my iPod to this page,
using the wordpress app of course.
Hopefully I will be less lax on the updates since I can
post mobile style now.

So ends the update off to bed.
